In addition to our weekly meetings, Students for Liberty holds several special events throughout the semester intended to bring the message of freedom to Berkeley’s greater community. The following is a list of upcoming and past events our club is and has put on for the spring 2012 semester. Our events are open to the general public regardless of political opinion. All are welcome, so come check us out!
Ron Paul

Students for Liberty and Youth for Ron Paul are excited to announce that congressman and presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul will be speaking at UC Berkeley next week! The event will be held next THURSDAY, APRIL 5TH at 7 PM in ZELLERBACH AUDITORIUM at the UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY.
The event is free and open to the general public. However, due to capacity restraints, we encourage attendants to get an early seating voucher at the following link:http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3267951531/efblike. The voucher is only good until 6:30 PM. After that, seating for the general public will be opened.

Joe Henchman

Is taxation theft? Or, a critical aspect of our social contract? Joseph Henchman of the Tax Foundation will give his two cents on this topic and so much more in an exciting and timely talk entitled “The Morality of Taxation.” Joe is a Berkeley grad and former President of Cal Libertarians, as well as an expert on tax policy and tax related issues.
Michael Keenan

Michael Keenan is the President of the Seasteading Institute and graduated from college at Victoria University of Wellington. He has developed software for companies First NZ Capital of New Zealand and BECC Consulting Group in Taiwan, both of which have developed into world-class companies. He has been interested in improving governments throughout his life, and donated much of his time to the Institute prior to becoming president.
Alex Epstein

Alex Epstein is a former fellow at the Ayn Rand Institute, former student of Duke University in North Carolina, and is currently the president of the Center For Industrial Progress where he promotes free market energy policies and debates environmental groups such as Greenpeace. He has numerous TV and radio appearances, and his monthly podcast “Power Hour” features many leading energy thinkers. The title of his talk will be “How to Win the Battle for Liberty”, and will address many of the issues he currently deals with as president of the Center For Industrial Progress.
